Email
Email is the easiest way for Leap to communicate with you. It is your responsibility to read materials sent home regarding our program. In order to stay in communication, please add our emails to your address book, so that our emails do not go to spam—[email protected] and [email protected].
Dress Code
Please have your young dancer dressed in the following attire for class and pull long hair neatly back into a ponytail or bun.
Students have the option of wearing the following Ballet attire:
Hip Hop and Jazz Lyrical Attire: Black pants/capris (NO JEANS, CROP TOPS or HATS) and a colorful tank top/T-shirt/leotard are recommended for hip hop and jazz/lyrical classes. Black tennis shoes or black jazz sneakers are needed for hip hop and nude jazz shoes are needed for the jazz/lyrical classes.
Appropriate Shoes:
Ballet and Creative Movement: pink ballet shoes (Please double knot the strings at the top of the shoe and cut an inch long, so that dancers do not trip on them.)
Tap: black tap shoes (For students who cannot tie their own shoelaces, please find a hair elastic with a gem or button on it. The elastic goes into the hole where the laces fit and then wraps around the gem or button. This way children can slip their shoes on and off easily by themselves.)
Hip Hop: black tennis shoes or black jazz sneakers
Jazz/Lyrical: nude jazz shoes
*All long-haired students MUST have their hair pulled back in a ponytail or bun.
**For ballet shoes, please double knot the laces and cut them an inch or two long. When the laces are in a bow they often come untied during class and children can trip on them.
**For tap students who cannot tie their own shoelaces, please make a loop of black elastic through the hole where the laces fit. This way children can slip their tap shoes on and off easily by themselves.
**Combo classes need to have both pairs of shoes labeled.
**Small chiffon dance skirts may be worn, but please no tutus—we’ll have fun saving those for special performances.
Shoes (up to size 2), leotards and tights may be purchased from Target or other large department stores. Please make sure there is an elastic across the top of the ballet shoe.

Bathroom Policy
Safety of your children is of the utmost importance to us at Leap Dance Studio. Our policy is that children 8 years and younger should not be left unattended (unless another parent agrees to assume responsibility). Leap's dance instructors CANNOT accompany your child to the bathroom, and Leap Dance Studio is not responsible for children when a child leaves class to use the bathroom. Please make sure your child uses the restroom before class and is not left unattended.
Make Up Classes
Missed classes can be made up within the same academic year/session by attending another class of the same age group at any of our locations. We appreciate knowing when a student will be absent and when you are planning to make up the class. Tuition is not prorated due to absences.
Snow Days & Teacher Illness
Leap Dance Studio will make an announcement via email by 1PM whether or not afternoon classes will be held and by 8AM on that day for our morning classes. If DPS does not hold classes, then Leap will most likely not hold MORNING classes either. Please check the home page of our website or call if you are unclear about whether a class might be cancelled due to weather. In case of a teacher illness Leap works to find a sub, but it is not always possible. In those rare instances you are welcome to make up the class.
Allergy Care Plans
We want to know if your child has a severe allergy, health condition, or uses an epipen. Please download the care plan below, so that we can keep this on file and give it to your child's teacher before the start of each session.
